Quality Standards

Quality management systems, inspection protocols, and material testing standards.

Our production facilities operate under strict quality control procedures aligned with a rigorous Internal Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistency and traceability.

AreaImplementation
Design ControlAll designs digitally stored, revision controlled, and peer-reviewed before cutting.
Material TraceabilityFull lot tracking from raw material receipt to final product. Each sail has a unique serial number linking to material batches.
Production ControlStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for every construction step (seaming, corner finishing, hardware installation).
InspectionMandatory multi-stage verification points (Receiving, In-Process, Final).

Every roll of cloth and batch of hardware undergoes inspection upon arrival.

CheckMethodCriteria

Weight VerificationScale / GSM checkWithin ±3% of specification
Hardware FitTolerance checkGo/No-Go gauge for critical fittings

Inspections conducted during the manufacturing process to catch issues early.

We utilize industry-standard testing methods to validate material performance.

TestStandardDescription
Tensile StrengthISO 13934-1Measures breaking force of seams (perpendicular pull).
Grab TestASTM D5034Simulates concentrated load performance.

Criteria: Seam strength must exceed base material strength or meet calculated design load (Safety Factor > 2.5).

TestStandardDescription
Tear ResistanceISO 13937-2(Trouser Tear) Measures force to propagate a tear.
UV ResistanceISO 4892-2Xenon arc exposure to simulate sunlight aging.
Water RepellencyAATCC 22Spray test for woven Dacron and spinnaker nylon.
TestMethodApplication
Pull-Out TestHydraulic rigVerifies corner ring/headboard attachment strength.
Cyclic LoadingDynamic rigSimulates fatigue for high-load fittings (Code Zero furlers).

Every sail is delivered with a unique QC Passport that includes:

  1. Serial Number: Unique identifier.
  2. Material Lot Numbers: Traceability for all major components (cloth, thread, hardware).
  3. Inspector Sign-Off: Digital or physical signature for each QC stage.
  4. Final Measurement Certificate: Actual finished dimensions (upon request).
