We offer three distinct tiers of membrane technology, tailored to different sailing styles—from Grand Prix racing to blue water cruising.

LoadX Carbon (Race)

Grand Prix

Maximum shape holding and minimum weight. The choice for podium performance.

Target: Grand Prix Racing, competitive Club Racing, One Design classes.
Composition:
- Primary Fiber: 100% Carbon Fiber (High Modulus).
- Scrim: Technora® Black.
- Film: 0.75 mil UV-stabilized Polyester.
Key Characteristics:
- Zero Stretch: Locked-in shape for critical upwind performance.
- Lightest Weight: Highest strength-to-weight ratio in our lineup.
- Aesthetic: Aggressive, tech-black appearance.

Best For: Sailors who demand the absolute best upwind pointing ability and boat speed.

Durability

Bulletproof durability meets high performance. The ultimate offshore hybrid.

Target: Performance Cruisers, Multihulls, Offshore Racers.
Composition:
- Primary Fiber: Ultra-PE (UHMWPE, equivalent to Dyneema®/Spectra®).
- Secondary Fiber: Carbon blend (for load path definition).
- Film: UV-treated Film with optional internal taffeta.
Key Characteristics:
- Impact Resistance: Ultra-PE is incredibly tough and resists flex fatigue.
- UV Immunity: Excellent resistance to sun damage.
- Forgiving: Handles flogging and misuse better than pure Carbon.

Best For: Multihulls and fast cruisers doing long ocean passages where reliability is paramount.

Cruising

Soft handling and longevity. The modern alternative to Dacron.

Target: Coastal Cruisers, Charter Fleets, Blue Water standard cruising.
Composition:
- Primary Fiber: High-Tenacity Aramid / Polyester blend.
- Skin: Double Taffeta (woven polyester skins on both sides).
Key Characteristics:
- Soft Hand: Feels like a traditional heavy sailcloth, easy to flake.
- Protection: Taffeta skins protect the fibers from UV and chafe.
- Mildew Resistant: Treated with anti-microbial agents.

Best For: Cruisers who want better shape than Dacron but need the ruggedness and ease of handling of a traditional sail.
