Partner Workflow

LoadX Studio is designed to be the Intel Inside for your sail loft.

  • You are the brand.
  • We are the engine.

We operate under a strict non-compete philosophy. We do not sell finished sails to end-users. We only supply Membrane Blanks to qualified sailmakers. Your customer deals only with you, sees only your logo, and values your service.

We have separated the sailmaking process into two distinct phases to maximize your efficiency and profit.

Phase 1: The LoadX Responsibility (High Tech / High CapEx)

Section titled “Phase 1: The LoadX Responsibility (High Tech / High CapEx)”

We handle the difficult, machine-intensive part:

  1. Design & Engineering: Load path mapping.
  2. Lamination: Producing the continuous fiber shell.
  3. Cutting: Precision plotting of the outline.

We ship you a “Membrane Blank”. This is a laminated, cured, cut-to-shape sail skin. It is rolled in a tube and shipped to your door.

Phase 2: The Partner Responsibility (High Service / Local)

Section titled “Phase 2: The Partner Responsibility (High Service / Local)”

You handle the finishing touches that require local craftsmanship:

  1. Assembly: Joining sections (if multi-section).
  2. Edge Work: Adding luff tapes, leech lines, and foot cords.
  3. Hardware: Installing rings, battens, and cars.
  4. Branding: Applying YOUR logo stickers and draft stripes.

Why partner with LoadX instead of making it yourself or buying standard cross-cut cloth?

Setting up a membrane lamination facility costs upwards of $800,000 for machinery, plus the cost of a climate-controlled warehouse.

  • With LoadX: Your investment is $0. You can start selling high-end membranes tomorrow using your existing floor space and sewing machines.

Selling a Dacron sail is a race to the bottom on price. Selling a specialized Membrane sail allows for premium pricing.

  • Buying a LoadX Blank allows you to mark up the high-value component (the technology) while billing your normal shop rate for the finishing hours.

Forget keeping rolls of 50 different cloth weights in stock.

  • Just-in-Time: You order a blank when you sell a sail. No cash tied up in inventory.

Empowerment

We empower small lofts to compete with the global giants (North, Doyle) by giving you access to the same level of technology.

Simplicity

We strip away the chemical engineering and industrial headaches, letting you focus on what you do best: Sail Design and Customer Service.
